Travel dates

You can book the journey individual the whole year, in winter as well – the travel dates are up to you. The travel appropriate to the itinerary can begin every odd day (day 1 =  odd day).

We recommend to plan the journey between the end of May to the middle of September. The Lake Baikal is usually very long icebound (sometimes even in May), so the water stays cold even in the summer. We recommend to book your journey 6 months in advance. The latest possible and recommended time to book is 9 weeks in advance.

Important instructions

Comfortable option: Attention – if no 1st class wagons are available on one or more routes, a complete 2nd class compartment will be booked for single use by two people.

There are 1-2 toilets with washbasins in each carriage. There are no showers on most trains. Some trains have new wagons with a shower cabin or an extra carriage with showers. Free boiling water is available in each carriage 24h.

To make your journey planning easier, all arrival and departure times are given as local destination times. All prices are per person. Itinerary and timetable is subject to change. We recommend the travel cancellation insurance. Our offer is valid only if all services are available upon booking.
